Thailand

Thailand joined the CGIAR in 1997, although its involvement with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) dates back to the 1960s. In April 2001, the Thailand-based International Board for Soil Research and Management (IBSRAM) was integrated into the CGIAR's International Water Management Institute (IWMI), now forming part of IWMI's Regional Office for Southeast Asia in Bangkok. Thailand's support to the CGIAR is provided through the Department of Agriculture.
