Peru

Peru became a member of the CGIAR in 1997, and is the host of the CGIAR's International Potato Center (CIP) in Lima. In addition to CIP, four other CGIAR Centers have had long-term collaborations with partners in Peru's national agricultural research system: the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), the International Center for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). Peru's official support to the CGIAR is provided through the Technical Secretariat for Coordination with the CGIAR in the Ministry of Agriculture.
