Nigeria

Nigeria became a member of the CGIAR in 1975, and hosts the CGIAR's International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan. It is also a member country of the CGIAR' s West Africa Rice Development Association. The CGIAR's International Crops Research Institute for the Semi Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) has very active millet and groundnut improvement programs in Nigeria. Nigeria's official support to the CGIAR is provided through the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
