Canada

Canada became a member of the CGIAR in 1971, and was one of the Group's sixteen original investors. Its official support to the CGIAR is provided by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Canada is also the home of the International Development Research Center (IDRC) in Ottawa, which is also counted among the CGIAR's original sixteen members.
