Brazil

Brazil became a member of the CGIAR in 1984. Its official support to the CGIAR and its Centers is provided through the Ministry of Agriculture's Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (EMBRAPA), which conducts extensive collaborative research with the CGIAR and which hosted the 1998 CGIAR Mid Term Meeting. Seven CGIAR Centers maintain research sites in Brazil and collaborate with EMBRAPA.
