Australia

Australia became a member of the CGIAR in 1973. Its official support to the CGIAR and its Centers is provided through the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). Australia is the home of Sir John Crawford, who was one of the founders of the CGIAR and first Chairman of its Technical Advisory Committee. The Crawford Fund for International Agricultural Research promotes public awareness about the work of the CGIAR in Australia.
