Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development

The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) became a member of the CGIAR in 1977. Responsibility for international agricultural research is vested with its Technical Department. AFESD has given priority to drylands and to fisheries research, as well as to biodiversity conservation.
