Luis Solórzano
Director of Staff
Luis Solórzano, a Colombian national, PhD Princeton 1999, is a scientist, an ecologist and a systems thinker. Solórzano’s grounding is as an evolutionary biologist with a solid basis in molecular biology and ecological modelling, complemented by clear and demonstrated management experience.
Since November 2010 Solórzano has served as an external advisor on climate change, adaptation and environmental monitoring to President Santos of Colombia. Other roles include: Program Officer for Environmental Science at the Moore Foundation; Director of Environmental Science and Andes Amazon Initiative Lead, and Senior Science Program Officer at the Moore Foundation. He has also worked as a scientist both with a large NGO (Conservation International) and with research organizations (such as the Woods Hole Research Center, Center for Energy and Environmental Studies at Princeton, and Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute).
Whilst at the Moore Foundation, he completed several executive management programs at Stanford University and was deeply involved in strategic change management and development and implementation of outcome based investment approaches at the Moore Foundation.
