Carl Hausmann
Vice-Chair
Carl Hausmann brings to the Consortium 35 years of private sector experience. Carl has had leadership experience in global agribusiness living in Africa, Europe, North America and South America. Feed milling, flour milling, vegetable oil production, corn and wheat starch production and international grain merchandising are all areas where he has worked. Building on the complementarity of agricultural development and the role of the local markets in order to meet the needs of consumers is the focus of his interest in the CGIAR. Strengthening institutions through good board governance is another area of focus.
Carl also serves on the board of the International Food and Agricultural Trade Policy Council (IPC), and he is a past President of Fediol, the European Association of Oilseed Crushers. Carl has a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a Masters in Business Administration from the Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD), France.
