CGIAR Fund Office Leadership Team

Iftikhar Mostafa is head of the governance team in the CGIAR Fund Office. Iftikhar manages programs, supervises the flow of funds from the CGIAR Fund, supports the Fund Council, manages the CGIAR Common Operational Framework, and helps manage the Fund Office.

Before joining the Fund Office, Iftikhar was executive manager corporate strategy in the Grains Research and Development Corporation, Australia. He managed the development of the Corporation’s results-based five year strategic plan (2005-2010). As a senior policy advisor in the Australian Department of Finance and Administration, Iftikhar evaluated government policies to enhance financial transparency and accountability. His project and public-private partnership experience spans the agriculture, health, and education sectors, and he has lived and worked in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Iftikhar has a PhD, an MA, and a BA in economics from Cornell University. He is an alumnus of the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.
