The International Potato Center (CIP) produces new varieties of disease-resistant potatoes that allow developing country farmers to maintain and increase their yields and raise their standard of living. CIP is the CGIAR center devoted to the study of potato, sweetpotato and Andean roots and tubers, with programmes on crop improvement, crop protection, natural resources management and social sciences.
