Report on AGM05
The 2005 CGIAR Annual General Meeting (AGM'05), hosted by the Government of Morocco under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohamed VI, was held at the Palais des Congrès, Marrakech during December 5-8, 2005.
The World Food Situation
"The world is making slow progress in reducing hunger," said Joachim von Braun, Director General of IFPRI, while launching a new report, The World Food Situation: An Overview.

The 2005 Crawford Lecture
This year's CGIAR Crawford Fund lecturer was Dr Zohra Ben Lakhdar, director of the Laboratory of Atomic-Molecular Spectroscopy and Applications at Tunis El Manar University in Tunisia, and winner of the prestigious L'OREAL-UNESCO "Women in Science" Award for 2005.
State of the World's Agriculture

Youth Forum
On December 4, 2005 the first-ever Youth Forum associated with a CGIAR annual meeting was held at the Moroccan Institut National de Recherche Agronomique (INRA) in Marrakech. The side-event was cosponsored by CGIAR and the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR).
Media Workshop
With a view to strengthening media coverage about the role of science and technology in agricultural development, CGIAR, in cooperation with Reuters Foundation, organized a media workshop in Marrakech during December 4-7, 2005.
