Innovation Marketplace 2004
In 2004 the Innovation Marketplace acknowledged and promoted
innovative Civil Society Organization (CSO) partnerships with CGIAR
Centers in Latin America and the Caribbean. In this second year of
the program the Innovation Marketplace was coordinated by RIMISP
who used their extensive networks to reach out to over 10,000 CSOs
across Latin America.
Nine examples of innovative partnerships were exhibited
throughout the AGM week. An expert panel composed by Sebastiao
Barbosa (EMBRAPA, Brazil) Usha Barwale-Zher (the Mahyco Foundation,
India), Franklin Moore ( USAID, US), Jonathan Wadsworth ( DfID, UK)
selected two winners from among the nine examples of innovative
partnerships which were exhibited. A third People's Choice
Award was voted for by AGM participants. All exhibitors received a
cash prize of $1,000, the three winners received $10,000.
Entries were judged on
-
significance of the program for developing the
research capacity of the CSO partner
-
influence of the CSO partnership in the CGIAR
and NAR research,
-
relevance of the CSO partnership in the
adoption and/or adaptation of research results,
-
innovation within the existing program in
terms of originality of the approach
-
replicability to other contexts and scaling
potential.
