Global Festival at Hibiya Park, Japan, October 1-2, 2005
Over 75,000 people attended the Global Festival at Hibiya Park. The Festival was organized by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to gain more public understanding and support for development cooperation, including Official Development Assistance (ODA) and for the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Approximately 200 governmental and non-governmental organizations introduced their activities at their booths. The CGIAR booth offered publications and presentedposters, highlighting the Japan-CGIAR partnership and the Japan-CGIAR Fellowship Program.
The booth was staffed by seven Japan-CGIAR fellows (2004-05). The Festival provided an excellent opportunity for young Japanese scientists and students to gain a better understanding of the CGIAR.
