The discussion centered around the recognition that expansion of international agricultural research, such as that planned by the CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs), is a necessary part of the solution to the complex challenges facing agriculture. The discussion also touched on the need for a significant expansion of finances to support the work of the CRPs.
