A Global Agricultural Research Partnership

CGIAR needs YOU! Have your say about the future direction of our research

CGIAR is inviting feedback on the SRF Action Plan

Sustainable agricultural development requires research across agricultural science, natural resource management, and policy. Our Strategy and Results Framework (SRF) is our road map to sustainable agricultural development.

The CGIAR Consortium is now working on an Action Plan to augment the SRF, focusing on foresight, prioritization and connecting the performance of the CGIAR Research Programs to the system-level outcomes.  This Action Plan will both influence the current and future direction of research within CGIAR.

We would like to invite stakeholders to provide feedback during the drafting of this key document.

Please register now to be part of the consultation process!  Only registered users will be able to access and comment on the draft.  Registration is open to anybody with an interest in CGIAR and our research.

Those who have registered will receive access to the draft during the first week of September.  Consultation on the draft document will take place 3- 9th September 2012 and then there will be a discussion on the key issues arising from the 24 – 30th September.  We look forward to receiving your registration!

Kay what does the CGIAR stand for ?

    • Kay Chapman says:

Hello Josam. The name CGIAR comes from the acronym for the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. In 2008 the CGIAR underwent a major transformation. To reflect this and yet retain our roots we have kept CGIAR as our name.
So, in answer to your question the name CGIAR stands for a global partnership that unites organizations engaged in research for a food secure future.
