Today is Day 3 of the 6th Africa Agriculture Science Week (AASW). The social media room is abuzz with reporters churning out blog posts, tweeting, chasing high level officials for interviews through the halls of the conference center and learning from their counterparts.
The first half of the day focused on Ghana Agricultural Science Day which was a mix of field trips and exhibitions while the afternoon sessions showcased a Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) dialogue platform bringing together various stakeholder groups.
Today’s featured post is “Buzz doesn’t mean much without action” written by Piers Bocock,Director of Knowledge Management and Communication (CGIAR Consortium).
The post relates to a side event, African agriculture for technology platform: visioning and next steps that took place on Tuesday 16th July that was convened by the CGIAR Consortium in collaboration with Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) and partners. The Africa Agriculture Technology Platform is a follow-through on the 2012 G8 commitments to develop a platform to support the scaling up adoption of agricultural technologies, to contribute to the goal of raising 50 million people in Africa out of poverty in the next 10 years.
