In semi-arid regions, particularly in the Sahel, water and high-temperature stress are serious constraints for groundnut production. Understanding of combined effects of heat and drought on physiological traits, yield and its attributes is of special significance for improving groundnut productivity. As a quantitatively inherited trait related to high yield potential, grain weight (GW) development in wheat is constrained by abiotic stresses such as limited water supply and high temperature. Data from a doubled haploid population, derived from a cross of (Hanxuan 10 × Lumai 14), grown in four environments were used to explore the genetic basis of GW developmental behavior in unconditional and conditional quantitative trait locus (QTL) analyses using a mixed linear model. The warm-season legume, cowpea (Vigna unguiculata), is an important crop that performs well in marginal environments. The effects of high temperature are among the most substantial challenges faced by growers of cowpea. Heat injury during late reproductive development sterilizes pollen such that no fruit is set. Draft genome sequence of chickpea (Cicer arietinum) provides a resource for trait improvement

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum) is the second most widely grown legume crop after soya bean, accounting for a substantial proportion of human dietary nitrogen intake and playing a crucial role in food security in developing countries. We report the ~738-Mb draft whole genome shotgun sequence of CDC Frontier, a kabuli chickpea variety, which contains an estimated 28,269 genes.
