Communications and Knowledge Management

Managing knowledge

The CGIAR amasses huge amounts of agricultural and natural resource data from across the world. Managing knowledge—collecting information, analyzing it and reporting the findings—is a must for planning and tracking the progress of our work, and for organizing it so that others can find and use it.

Consolidating information from CGIAR Research Programs in a knowledge management system means our data and information can be analyzed and compared. Systematically collecting, analyzing, using and disseminating our information means more people can use our research results. An integrated knowledge system and CGIAR One Corporate System aggregates information about our work so that results can be communicated.

Sharing knowledge

We support an environment where sharing knowledge across staff of CGIAR Research Programs and Research Centers is encouraged. Working with communities of practice across the CGIAR system we foster learning across disciplines.

Communicating

The CGIAR is a leader in thinking and research on agricultural development. The CGIAR brand is a lighthouse that attracts those who seek research solutions for agricultural development to benefit poor people. CGIAR communications strengthen the CGIAR brand and communicate our results clearly and appropriately to target audiences.

Efficient internal communication provides a timely flow of information among our CGIAR Research Programs, Research Centers and partners.
