The CGIAR Science Award for Promising Young Scientist 2008

Nomination Criteria
Presented to a scientist/researcher no older than 35 years of age at the time of the Award who, during her/his period of tenure at a Center or partner institution/organization, has made a significant research contribution in any field. In addition to research excellence, the awardee will have demonstrated commitment to the developmental goals of the CGIAR. The research contribution should:

  • be original;
  • have actual or potential regional or international significance that furthers CGIAR goals; and
  • demonstrate high standards of excellence.

Nomination Requirements
Nominations should include information relevant to the award criteria as described above and should consist of:

  • a brief narrative (500 words or less) of the qualifications and achievements of the nominee for the Award;
  • a current CV (2-4 pages) which includes most recent publications (not older than 3 years); reprints are not required unless requested by the Evaluation and Selection Panel;
  • a statement certifying to the age of the nominee as of the beginning of CGIAR Annual General Meeting in December 2008.
